I find myself nodding along to the vast majority of Stephen’s writing but sometimes there is a line that just makes me go ‘YES, that’s it exactly!!’ This is the line “They think it's a more social democratic version of the Labour Party when it's actually a more Scottish, more sophisticated version of Ukip”

Nail, let me introduce to to head…

I'd make just one adjustment, a 'less' sophisticated version of UKIP.

The problem is with the Scottish version of the freeports is that the Scottish "government" will deal with them, and we all know what happens when the Scottish "government" get his hands onto something.

You say:

"The UK needs a government with the vision and mettle to confront the problem and reform..."

I would settle for "a government with a vision, any vision at all."

"Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater ... don't ask for much in the way of outcomes and are just happy if you stick the word 'green' in the letterhead."

Actually I think they are being used as shields. For example, the stories about all the road projects which have effectively being shelved - the A9 dualling is an egregious example, or the Rest and be thankful headache - will be blamed on the greens, while in all likelihood they have been shelved because there is simply nae money.

The SNP's obsession with being different from the hated English is blatant and childishly obvious. It's also very counter-productive because whilst it may impress their cerebrally challenged followers, more casual observers eg foreign governments, potential investors, EU etc must look on in bemusement. The make-believe 'embassies', the EU 'keep a light on for us' nonsense, the Ukraine fact-finding support visit, the anti-nuclear fence-sitting etc all contribute to an image of a country with a huge inferiority complex, political immaturity and a lack of confidence in its identity.

I agree entirely. Devolution showing that it can hold back the U.K. proof was the covid restrictions. SNP wanted to show they know best, when in fact they are hopeless and show they are a bunch of amateurs in powerful positions. Now our farming industry could be held back because this regime want to fall on line with the EU somehow thinking sucking up to them will help their cause. However there useless cause will never happen but in the meantime Scotlands growth and credibility is on the slide.

Stephen, how do we kickstart such a movement to reform the devolution bill?

Is there sympathy in Westminster for such a move? What do Scot Cons say?

I have always said this Devolved Terrorism is what the snp want and for the sake of the Scottish people brought low by Sturgeon and her poison pack Devolved criteria needs changing by UK government sooner rather than later...

So wee Jimmy's opening salvo is not about positive examples of snp governance but a pessimistic view about where we stand just now and it's all the fault of Boris Johnson ,Westminster, and Brexit Signs of things to come I think I will lie in a darkened room for the foreseeable future and wait for it all to pass

The articles say they’re from the Daily Mail! They’re just propaganda. Not journalism.

Scotland should doing what England does. Should be doing what England expects. Scotland should be doing what the masters say. Just as the Daily Mail journos do what their tax dodging billionaire owner expects them to.

Scotland should be doing what's best for Scotland. It just so happens the rest of the UK is doing it so much better than your beloved snp masters.

You're so blinded by their lies and deceit that it makes you look foolish every time you respond Andrew. You lost in 2014, we get that you aren't happy about that, but it's long past the time to let it go and allow Scotland to become a better place.

No. Scotland should be doing what the English govt says and following the wise guidance of the Daily Mail’s tax dodging billionaire owner. The SNP should be disparaged because so many Scots support them and they are democratically elected. They must be smeared. Often. Weekly. Daily. Daily Mail. Thank you Daisley. Gong in the post. Salary I’m your bank.

Are you drunk at this time of day? "Salary I'm your bank"? What did you mean to type?

It's the UK government, not the English government. You've been sucked in by the snp's deceptions and lies again.

The snp received 35% of Scotland's votes, considerably less than pro Union parties. Not so many Scots vote for them these days, the snp is losing voters as quickly as the chances of another referendum.

Record number of votes in a Scottish election only a few months back! You are so funny! Genuinely, like Johnson, a true comedien.

As a Scot I should be personally insulted by accusations of daytime drunkenness. This is the correct way to speak to Scots. Remember: anyone who might not follow the instructions of the paymasters must be smeared. And then smeared and smeared and smeared again. Keep Scotland on its knees where it belongs.

Andrew give reasoned, well argued rebuttals to this article please.

Please provide detailed evidence where Stephen is incorrect. If you can’t, or would prefer to trade insults, then you will be ignored, laughed at and further ridiculed. You have said nothing of substance to make me change my opinion that the people who vote SNP do not understand basic economic facts.

As a Scot, you're going to feel insulted by anything British. As a Scot, you have a thing about being on your knees. Stand tall and accept you're British and be proud of that. As a Scot, accept that there is no second indy ref, ignore the instructions and deception of your snp masters. They own you with their lies.

The "record number of votes" gave the snp only 35% of the votes, considerably less than pro Union parties. We would laugh at how brainwashed you are, but we pity you if you can't even spell comedian. Genuinely, like sturgeon, a failure.

This is good… telling me how I feel rather than asking… very British attitudinally. And not getting the humorous purpose of the mid-spelling, quite Tory, I’d guess. Only then to fail to capitalise a proper noun. And not to include the correct figure of votes actually cast and those for the Greens. Laughable and patronising.
