Did anyone think to ask alcoholics what they thought about minimum pricing? I doubt it very much else they’d know that if you need a drink you’ll get the money for it somewhere. If that’s out of the family food budget then so be it.
As an alcoholic - now sober thankfully - I completely agree with you. Minimum pricing simply makes the worst off even poorer and the shops richer. At least the tax on alcohol goes to the government coffers.
What would make a difference would be an increase in funding for rehabs - maybe to the levels available before Ms Sturgeon cut support deeply.
Different strategies are needed for different types of drinker.
