I googled the New York Times to see if there was any reference to her visit; not a mention and all my search found was.... ' Browse and save the best sturgeon recipes on New York Times Cooking.'

She really is a pretentious wee madam with a tremendous conceit of herself . To think she will be sharing her views with a prestigious think tank ….she is clearly unaware of her limitations . She conveniently forgets that the USA ( UNITED States of America) is made up of what was originally small ‘countries’ many of which are bigger than Scotland and for various reasons saw the advantages in becoming UNITED just as we in Britain became the UNITED Kingdom . She may not see the irony in that . Her audience each of whom will have an IQ many times greater than our FM will be left with a similar question as asked at the end of each episode of the Lone Ranger ie “Who was that masked man”?……. they will have heard her but by that time will have memorised every diminutive feature on the faces of their expensive watches .

How many are in her entourage , is her husband with her , did they fly business class , how much did this all cost when the money could have been given to the Govan foodbank . So many questions so little time .

Stephen why don't I see you in the Scottish press? Your Spectator articles are invariably one of my 'go-to's'. Is it really as difficult as we are led to believe to get anything published here that does NOT eulogise the wretched SNP?

If you were Nicola Sturgeon and had made the mess she has of Scotland’s once-proud education system, its once well-funded health system, its once entrepreneurial and innovative populace, wouldn’t you be hot-footing it off to another country? That she’ll be pushing the break-up of a successful union to another successful union is a joke.

Do the US need her expertise? The Missouri/Kansas border war is over. The Hatfields and the McCoys are reconciled. What input can she have.? It’s all a bit embarrassing. Salmond is a despicable toad but he’s an intelligent and articulate despicable toad. I hope the hosts have an interpreter on hand.

I would like to see the look on the Americans’ faces when she tells them that she has plans for a hard border with England and that we currently have the highest rates of income tax in the UK.

Another incisive commentary on the failing SNP.

…and what is Sturgeon’s visit to Washington if not pure propaganda . If her visit had one redeeming feature I would admit it . It is very difficult to comment on Sturgeon without being personal probably because of her general behaviour and lack of honesty ….it all makes it very easy to dislike her …..besides what is there to like ?

I have no idea what first class costs but I would guess around £4000 each …so that’s £20,000 , then there’s hotel costs say £350 per night ..£700 x5 = £3,500 + taxis + meals say £500 …that’s £24,000 …let’s say £5000 each …...and here’s us mere mortals struggling to get a week’s holiday in Oban .

Problems at home you say?? Och, these things happen. That’s the response we’d expect from the First Munter.

The comments below appear to be content free hatred. The subtext is that a Scot representing Scotland is entirely unacceptable. Just deeply horrible.

We seem to have a new low here in the obsessive anti Scotland’s propaganda spew. Only a Scots FM cannot represent their country in the world’s most crucial power centre. Idiot Johnson can make a fool of himself across the planet. This elected Scot with a mandate he could only dream of must be restricted. Must know her place. This is vile and shameful.
